Article : We never knew,we were deceived by Akinrulie Opeyemi Joshua

A moment came when they said we have a bright thus,we depended on this statement and we reposed. We waited for the magic astonishment to occur instead working towards it,we fold our arms thinking about an instantaneous miracle that will bring us to spotlight but we were disappointed because we have been deceived. Should we say it was a deceit? The answer is,no,they were just instigating our tarnished hopes may be that will make man to be more rational.

Mankind was created with a bright future but something went wrong hence,he needed to pay if he wants his future to be brighter, darkness covered the reality of mankind we could not detect good from evil and evil from good. We were left with our thoughts, nobody to put man through despite the difficulties and all what he can do is to rejuvenate himself by self believe.
  .

Many have assumed that the maker of mankind is silent. We must not be fallacious, man must give a proper scrutiny before his decision. The maker was disappointed when man succumb to death instead of life,he was reluctant to let man leave but he had to let man know that what he did. He told man frankly that he will pay if he wants a brighter future. But change of things came when mankind started deceiving each up till now the deception still continues. Be dexterous and be clever, don't be deceived because the maker is interested in your life.

"We Caused It Not You" by Akinrulie Opeyemi Joshua

The past can't be recollected, the present can still be amended but at times I wonder if there is an authentic expression of the true value of man's essence and existence. Grievances in the hearts of mankind hence, the only way designed is to return to their supreme being.

All hands on desk with a pen and a notebook yet man is asking about which way to go. Life is now a race, succumb or die. Nobody wants to die in penury thus, their survival is within them but it is only those who are willing to sacrifice will sail through. The question is,are they willing to go on that zealous stride?

Hustlers don't sleep, they nap. May be man has slept off when they are to capture some cogent things that will sharpen their lives in achieving what they have aimed for. Do we need to pause and rewind some mistakes man has comitted? What if the mistakes will take mankind to the land of fruition?

The journey is long and tedious, sagacity needs to be permitted if we want good occurrences ,we must not be hijacked by the merriment of the world and forget about our real origin.

Let's be reasonable in all ramifications, why must we be sentimental when the truth will be unveiled one day? We always nod our heads pretending we do not know anything. At this juncture man needs to think and rationalise extensively, the way is opened but the seats are few.

Get the tickets before it closes.

Governor Ayo Fayose and Ekiti Speaker at Logger heads. (See full details here)

The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dr Adewale Omirin, has accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of freezing the bank accounts of the House of Assembly.
He also expressed worry over alleged "incessant blackmail and intimidation" of the Assembly by the state government over the refusal by the All Progressives Congress members? to dump their party for the Peoples Democratic Party.
This, he said, was going beyond approved standards of modern governance.
But Fayose has described the allegations as "very untrue," saying Omirin was only playing politics.
He also denied asking anybody to either insult or assault the Speaker.
The Speaker, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Wole Olujobi, said the latest allegation that the Assembly demanded N135m for the screening of commissioner nominees "was a propaganda taken too far and went against the grains of decency in a fledgling democracy."
Omirin, who said he would not have reacted if not for the gullible public that would be deceived by the lies by the executive, expressed worry over media reports casting the Assembly as a stumbling block to the Governor?'s bid to constitute his cabinet.
Describing the reports in the media on the nominees as misleading, Omirin explained, "The standard practice is to present the list of the nominees in the plenary while the nominees will follow with the submission of their credentials. They will be screened before confirmation.
"The governor sent three nominees on Monday and the list was read in the plenary that day. Since it is a public document, we read the letter? second day in the plenary. Nobody submitted any credential. We don't know the nominees. They have not submitted their credentials for the appropriate committees to screen them.
"It is surprising that the governor expects the House to confirm the nominees as sent. This is strange in parliamentary conduct." -

Ekiti State Judge Withdraws from case challenging Governor Ayo Fayose's Eligibility

Ekiti State Governor-elect, Ayo Fayose
A judge of the Ekiti State High Court, Justice
Olusegun Ogunyemi, has withdrawn from the
suit challenging the eligibility of the Governor,
Mr. Ayodele Fayose, to contest in the June 21
election, which he won.
It was learnt that the record of proceedings in
the case had been transmitted to the Court of
Appeal, Ado-Ekiti, for hearing of an appeal filed
by Fayose against the judge assumption of
jurisdiction to hear the case.
The PUNCH gathered on Sunday that Justice
Ogunyemi withdrew from the case filed by
members of the Ekiti-11, Mr. Adeniyi Ajakaiye
and Olufemi Ajayi, citing threat to his life.
It was also learnt that the case billed for hearing
today (Monday) would no longer take place as
lawyers handling the case had been informed by
court officials not to come.
The judge's action followed a motion on notice
filed by the defence team of the governor asking
him to disqualify himself from the case. The
motion was served on the plaintiffs counsel on
Thursday.
Our correspondent learnt that the case file had
been returned to the Chief Judge, Justice Ayodeji
Daramola.
When contacted, the plaintiffs' lawyer, Mr. Rafiu
Balogun, told our correspondent that the case
would no longer come up for hearing today.
He said, "Court officials have told us not to come
again on Monday because the case will not come
up for hearing. He said a fresh hearing notice
would be served on parties at the appropriate
time."
Balogun said he was not aware if Justice
Ogunyemi had withdrawn from the case.
He, however, confirmed that the motion on
notice seeking the disqualification of the judge
from the case had been served on the plaintiffs.
When contacted, Fayose's Special Assistant on
Legal, Mr. Owoseni Ajayi, declined comments.
One of the lawyers to the governor, however,
confirmed that the case would no longer come
up for hearing today.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti
State has advised Justice Daramola not to accede
to the request by the PDP to reassign the case to
another judge.
The state Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun,
said the Chief Judge would have to be firm.
"He should not allow desperate politicians to
hijack the judiciary because the arm is expected
to dispense justice without fear or favour and a
situation whereby one of the parties is allowed to
dictate who to handle the case will erode the
respect for this arm of government.
"We are not against the CJ reassigning the case
based on his own discretionary power, but doing
so because the PDP is making unsubstantiated
allegations would make the judiciary look as if it
is not independent.
"What we want from the CJ is to be firm, resolute
and be ready to defend the constitution not
minding whose ox is gored. He should just do
what he thinks is fair to all the parties and not to
the PDP," he added.
The PDP in a petition signed by the state
Chairman, Chief Idowu Faleye, and sent to
Justice Daramola, had raised the likelihood of bias
against Justice Ogunyemi.
It asked the CJ to reassign the case another
judge.
Faleye claimed in the petition that authoritative
sources informed his party that Ogunyemi was
being compelled by the plaintiffs, the opposition
party in the state (the APC) and their foreign
sponsors to deliver as earlier promised in an
agreement.
He added that the only way out of the problem
was to allow another judge to assume jurisdiction
over the case, so that all parties to the case
could have confidence in the judicious and
judicial determination of the case.
The PDP state chairman maintained that his
party and the governor had lost confidence in
Justice Ogunyemi's continued handling of the
case.
Justice Olusegun Ogunyemi, had on September
22 assumed jurisdiction and refused an
application to set aside an order abridging the
time for Fayose to file his defence in the case.
Dissatisfied, Fayose in a Notice of Appeal filed at
the State High Court, Ado-Ekiti, through his team
of lawyers led by Mr. Ahmed Raji (SAN), had
accused the trial judge of denying him fair
hearing.
Fayose also asked the judge to stay further
proceedings in the suit pending determination of
the interlocutory appeal.
The motion on notice was brought pursuant to
Order 39 Rules 1, Order 54 Rule 1 of Ekiti State
(Civil Procedure) Rules 2011 and under the
inherent jurisdiction of the court.

Dangote Cement slashes Cement Price Backward [see full details]

Dangote Cement Plc, has announced cuts in the prices of the product, a development seen as likely to make cement cheaper than it has ever been since 2005.
The new price regime announced by its Group
Managing Director, Mr. Devakumar Edwin, indicated that the Dangote 32.5 cement grade is now pegged at N1,000 per 50-kilogramme bag, while the higher 42.5 grade is to sell for N1,150 per bag.
The new prices exclusive of the Value Added Tax (VAT) represent about 40 per cent discount on the prevailing market price of the product, which is being sold for N1,700 irrespective of the grade, across the country.
Edwin, in a statement yesterday, said the move was in line with the company's commitment to the nation's dire need for the development of
infrastructure and to boost the federal and state government's efforts to reduce the about 20 million housing deficit in Africa's largest economy.
The statement added:
"We recognise the need for a dramatic increase in the response to the huge infrastructure and housing deficit in the country, and one of the ways of addressing the issue is bringing the price of building materials down to much more
affordable levels, especially cement, as part of our own contribution to the transformation agenda of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration and the attainment of key milestones in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)".
The statement claimed that since the begin of the implementation of the backward integration policy for cement in the country over 12 years ago, the local production capacity of the product rose from less than two million metric tonnes per annum to about 38 million metric tonnes per annum today.
It added that during the over 12 years' period of the policy, over $20 billion was directly and indirectly injected into the industry with Dangote Cement Plc accounting for 60 per cent of the amount.
Edwin also noted that the company would continue to ensure alignment of its corporate social responsibility with its strategic business initiatives and also evaluate its pricing regime in Nigeria's best interest.
In compliance with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria's (SON) directive and regulation on the various grades of cement and their prescribed uses, Dangote cement launched its brand of the premium 32.5 cement grade, which has been restricted to plastering use only.
The country's largest cement producer noted that the move was to develop a full bouquet of cement types to meet the varying needs of consumers for the different grades of cement.
The company, with this move, now produces 42.5 for column casting, block making, decking and other general purpose construction work that require high strength, while also producing the 32.5 grade for rendering or plastering.
Following the price reduction, the National President of the Block Moulders Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Rasidi Adebowale, said he received the news with happiness, especially on what the price reduction holds for his members in Nigeria.
He expressed the hope that the new price review would translate to reduction in the price of blocks.
Also, the President of the Nigerian Institute of
Architect Bruno Niyi hailed the decision and urged the management of the company to sustain the new price regime and ensure it was not hijacked by profiteers.

APC Faults Fayose On Ekiti Teaching Hospital, Lists Fayemi’s Achievements

The Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has debunked claims by Governor Ayodele Fayose that the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, had only one functional ambulance.
The party in a statement on Thursday by the State Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, described the statement as a "lie from the pit of hell".
The APC said the teaching hospital had three functional ambulances, a Toyota, a Peugeot and a Big Ford, all purchased by Fayose's predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
Contrary to Fayose's claims that the X-ray machine had broken down, the party said, "There are two functional X-ray machines presently at the Teaching Hospital. One is a mobile one while the other one is very big. We urge anyone in doubt to conduct an independent verification at the Teaching Hospital and the lie of this administration will be exposed.
"The statement that Governor Fayose started the College of medicine during his first tenure when he was impeached is not only laughable but a deliberate distortion of fact.
"The truth of the matter is that, Governor Fayose actually frustrated the take-off of the College during his first term. It was Mr. Fayose as governor in 2004 who after pocketing N100m released by Governor Adebayo for the take-off of the College, abolished the College of Medicine and instead wasted a colossal N1.3bn on a non- existent poultry project and another N115m on a non-existent International School in his home town, Afao Ekiti".
The party boasted that it was under the immediate past administration of Kayode Fayemi that the College of Medicine now awaiting accreditation, was given approval to operate by the Medical Registration Council of Nigeria.
It claimed that the Fayemi-led APC administration in the state also constructed the General-Out Patient Department extension, renovation of the old accident and emergency ward and the female surgical ward.
"The Funmi Adunni Olayinka Diagnostic and Wellness centre was constructed in the premises of the Teaching Hospital by the Fayemi administration.
"In the College of Medicine, Dr. Fayemi completed structures in the Medical Library, the Anatomy Department, the physiology department, pharmacology and Bio Chemistry department and the Medical Student Hostel.
"The more Governor Fayose lies against the verifiable achievements of Dr. Fayemi, the more he exposes his inadequacies and reminds Ekiti people of his sordid past".

I visit Beer Parlor Every Friday - Governor Ayo Fayose

Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has said he patronises drinking joints every Friday in order to get close to the 'common man' in the state.
The governor said this in Abuja on Thursday while defending the concept of "stomach infrastructure" introduced by his government.
He told journalists that it would be wrong to assume that stomach infrastructure meant only sharing of food and money to the people.
Fayose said, "I also go to beer parlour on Fridays to stay with the common men there. Governance is not church; it is about diverse characters and you must relate with them as such.Christmas is coming, why do people go out of their ways to be shopping or doing other things if it is not just to make people merry?
"So, I'm grooming chicken, buying rice, yams, plantain, and the rest of them. I am sure if I give them to families during the festive period, they will be happy. So, stomach infrastructure is a way of life."
The governor said that most people who committed crime did so because they felt that life was no longer worthy of living for them and that there was no one to tell them that there is life for them.
He said it was because of this that he set up a department for stomach infrastructure and also appointed a special assistant and a personal assistant on it.
"So, my style, without apology, is that stomach infrastructure is a way of life for me, I will relate well with my people to alleviate poverty and hunger," he added.
He said that the welfare of the people in the society mattered, hence his condemnation of spending N3.3bn on the building of Governor's House by his predecessor, ex-Governor Kayode Fayemi.
"That is not to condemn or fight anybody but I have another instance, the University of Ado Ekiti has most of its courses yet to be accredited and they needed about N800m to sort out those problems, will the governor be living in affluence when the whole state is in darkness?," he asked.
On the face-off between him and members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, the governor said he was already discussing with the speaker.
He said he was sure that the leadership of the House was ready to work with him.
He said, "I am an experienced governor and I know the game. Very soon, my House of Assembly will be together, working to keep the ground running; they want to work with me and I want to work with them." punch
A sitting governor publicly declaring that he visits a ''Beer parlour' every Friday?
I hope his mouth was hacked because his explanation on why he does go there is weak.
If However it is him,i urge him to swap his beer parlour visit with going to Orphanages or Prisons.
Yesterday was Friday and I cant help wondering which Beer Parlour he visited.
The same way the Governor talks without care or caution is the same way I am allowed to air my opinion on his utterances.Since he premeditatedly got re-elected,he has been too loud.....

' Linda Ikeji kept begging me after we broke up but I took her for granted ' – Dan Foster in New interview

Popular Nigerian-based American On-Air Personality Dan Foster in a new interview with Punch has opened up on his affair with top blogger Linda Ikeji, why his 16 year old son is into drugs, and more, read below:
Do you have regrets coming down here?
The only regret I had was that in 1999, I had a son in the US. I had to go to my dad and I told him, 'Dad, I think I like my job more than being married now. I would do anything for that job but then, I just met this woman and she just had a baby for me.' He is now 16. I was mad at him last year. My ex sent me some of his pictures and I knew he was doing drugs. He had everybody fooled as if he was a cool kid. I feel so guilty because I am sitting here making all the money and I didn't spend time with him. You have to spend time with your kids or you would lose them. Sometimes I would call him and he wouldn't have anything to say. I would ask him how he was doing and he would just say 'fine.' I would scold him and tell him to say something more than one word. I would tell him to ask me questions and he would say he didn't know what to say.
Did you ever smoke weed?
Yes. I remember one time I smoked weed and my father came in and asked me, 'what is that stupid look on your face? You must have been smoking that stupid stuff because you look so stupid!' I never smoked it again. But I was even 18. But my son was 14 when he started smoking weed. I was so pissed with his mum because she didn't even know what he was doing. Now, I am trying to get his head together and make sure he does well in school. My only pain is that I needed to have been there for this kid. But I have three kids now and I love them to death.
Was your absence the major reason he did drugs?
I could have communicated more with him. He needs a role model. I spoke to my ex's new guy and I asked him why he didn't watch over him. He said he tried to talk to him. I told him I was annoyed with them. I told him I would have watched over the kid and found out who he was hanging out with. He told me he was hanging out with a white kid. But he is doing better now. He is communicating with me now.
Why did you marry a Nigerian?
My father told me that my ex had moved on. In fact, he told me then that she looked heavy. I asked what he meant and I was told she was pregnant. I knew she had really moved on. But then, I didn't marry again till almost four or five years later. I was taking my time after that. It wasn't something I wanted to jump into. But then, I did have so many options.
We knew you had options including Linda Ikeji…
Oh yeah! I remember Linda asking me what she did wrong. She went on and on. My wife always tries to delete her number no matter how I tag it on my phone. She would always figure the number out and she would find out what I use to code it. My wife is so strong and she is the right woman. I love her because she didn't know who I was when I met her at the theatre. She still didn't know who I was for almost two weeks after. We just had a great conversation. My sister kept asking me how I would find somebody that would love me for who I am. I put my wife to that test. She didn't know me. It was two weeks later that people in her office asked her if she knew who her boyfriend was and they told her. She told them she didn't know and she hadn't even heard me on radio.
But Linda is doing well now; don't you feel you should have married her?
She is a nice kid. I hope she is able to find someone but she has to find the right person. She is really into what she is doing. She is an honest kid. I thought I wasn't good enough for her. I kept asking her why me. But she was really into me. I couldn't believe it. I took her for granted. I felt she could always find a fine model on the runway. But she was so really serious about me. She was in love with me. But it didn't work out. I took her for granted and I was dating another person while I was dating her. I tried to keep a relationship in Abuja, another in Warri while she was in Lagos. Ah! It was a nightmare. I wouldn't want to go through that again. I had three beautiful women at a time and I lost them all. They were all waiting. One of them knew about all the rest. She could have been the one. I hurt her so badly. She even left the country after we broke up. I felt bad. I went to the cinema to get my head together on a Saturday morning and that was where I met my wife. See how God works. Look at my kids. They are wonderful children.
Do we see you going back to stay in the US?
One day, I have to. But my family went to the US recently. They saw my relatives. I didn't go with them. I wish I went with them. I am still looking forward to that day to happen. We are hustling at the moment. We will do it at the right time. The US is a great place but a man needs to be where he is known. This is where my job is. We would visit and enjoy those places. I have made this place my home because my work is so relevant to me. My job is important. The satisfaction I get when I am working is big.
You have not mentioned anything about your mother
My mother died when I was 10. There was no mum around. It was just dad. I had a good relationship with my dad. In fact, it was the best. I talk about him a lot. He is full of wisdom. He sounds so clever. He started taking care of us when my mum died. My siblings are cool too.
You must have fully adapted to Nigerian system now.
I am trying. It is just that I see fish in everything I eat. I am allergic to sea food. How can somebody put fish in beans? It is just ridiculous.

"Fayemi Commissioned Uncompleted Projects" _ Lere Olayinka

Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor on Public Communication and News Media, Mr Lere Olayinka, yesterday, alleged that former governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi, commissioned uncompleted projects ''to create the impression that he actually performed.''
Some of such projects, Olayinka said, included a general hospital named after the traditional ruler of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe, the state pavilion and Ado-Ifaki road.
The hospital was inaugurated by former vice president Atiku Abubakar on October 6.
He said: "The Oba Adejuyigbe General Hospital in Agric Olope area of Ado-Ekiti that was commissioned on October 6, 2014 is yet to be completed as at today. The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant and former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar was brought to Ado-Ekiti by Fayemi to commission the uncompleted project. The project was handled by a company owned by the Chairman of E-11, Mr Femi Ajiniran. As at today, the building is still being painted while other structural works are still going on there. Only the outside was painted before it was commissioned. Building materials are still being brought to the site by contractors, while the entire premises of the hospital has been taken over by weeds."
Olayinka added: "There is no single medical equipment in the hospital which was commissioned with fanfare by Fayemi. The Ado-Ifaki road which is a federal project was hurriedly commissioned by Fayemi, because he wanted to take the glory for a project initiated by Governor Ayo Fayose in 2005. It was Fayose who embarked on the dualisation of major roads leading to Ado-Ekiti.''
When contacted, the Commissioner for Information during Fayemi's administration declined comment but rather directed journalists to the site.
