APC Faults Fayose On Ekiti Teaching Hospital, Lists Fayemi’s Achievements

The Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has debunked claims by Governor Ayodele Fayose that the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, had only one functional ambulance.
The party in a statement on Thursday by the State Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, described the statement as a "lie from the pit of hell".
The APC said the teaching hospital had three functional ambulances, a Toyota, a Peugeot and a Big Ford, all purchased by Fayose's predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
Contrary to Fayose's claims that the X-ray machine had broken down, the party said, "There are two functional X-ray machines presently at the Teaching Hospital. One is a mobile one while the other one is very big. We urge anyone in doubt to conduct an independent verification at the Teaching Hospital and the lie of this administration will be exposed.
"The statement that Governor Fayose started the College of medicine during his first tenure when he was impeached is not only laughable but a deliberate distortion of fact.
"The truth of the matter is that, Governor Fayose actually frustrated the take-off of the College during his first term. It was Mr. Fayose as governor in 2004 who after pocketing N100m released by Governor Adebayo for the take-off of the College, abolished the College of Medicine and instead wasted a colossal N1.3bn on a non- existent poultry project and another N115m on a non-existent International School in his home town, Afao Ekiti".
The party boasted that it was under the immediate past administration of Kayode Fayemi that the College of Medicine now awaiting accreditation, was given approval to operate by the Medical Registration Council of Nigeria.
It claimed that the Fayemi-led APC administration in the state also constructed the General-Out Patient Department extension, renovation of the old accident and emergency ward and the female surgical ward.
"The Funmi Adunni Olayinka Diagnostic and Wellness centre was constructed in the premises of the Teaching Hospital by the Fayemi administration.
"In the College of Medicine, Dr. Fayemi completed structures in the Medical Library, the Anatomy Department, the physiology department, pharmacology and Bio Chemistry department and the Medical Student Hostel.
"The more Governor Fayose lies against the verifiable achievements of Dr. Fayemi, the more he exposes his inadequacies and reminds Ekiti people of his sordid past".
